UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Tigers, Cubs and White Sox all shared one thing in common on Thursday night – none of them played.
For the Chicago teams, it was a scheduled day off. On Friday evening, the Cubs are scheduled to open a series in Cincinnati against the Reds, while the White Sox welcome the Kansas City Royals to Guaranteed Rate Field for the start of a weekend set.
As for the Tigers, the visiting Minnesota Twins voted not to play the scheduled Thursday opener of a four-game series at Comerica Park as a sign of protest for the Sunday shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenowa, Wisconsin. The two teams did agree to play a doubleheader in Detroit on Friday afternoon, with broadcast coverage from Dan Dickerson and Jim Price beginning at 12:45 PM on 99 7 and 1450 WHTC.
