(Reuters) – Rivian Automotive is recalling 17,260 vehicles in the U.S. due to a headlight issue that can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday.
The headlight low beam may fail to illuminate when starting the vehicle in cold weather, the U.S. auto safety regulator said, adding the recall affects certain 2025 R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck vehicles.
The company will replace the headlight control modules without charge to fix the issue, according to the regulator’s report.
Rivian did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
The company on Thursday projected a surprise drop in electric vehicle deliveries for 2025.
Its shares were down 2.2% in premarket trading.
