Charlotte Hornets star guard LaMelo Ball is injured once again, with right ankle soreness forcing him to miss the final three quarters of a 97-89 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday in New York.
Ball missed five games bridging January and February due to a sprained left ankle before playing 36 minutes against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. He then sat out against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday because of left ankle soreness.
Now the 23-year-old is in danger of missing more time, although he did say that he doesn’t believe his latest ankle injury to be serious.
Charlotte will play again on Wednesday, making a trip to Orlando for a meeting with the Magic before having a week off for the All-Star break.
Ball played only 10 minutes on Monday. He finished with five points on 2-of-5 shooting to go along with one rebound and three assists.
In 33 games (all starts) this season, Ball has averaged 27.3 points, 5.1 boards and 7.2 assists.
