DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The most expensive U.S. Senate race in Michigan history has been won by Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.
He defeated Republican Mike Rogers, a former member of the U.S. House.
Rogers also lost the 2024 U.S. Senate race to Democrat Elissa Slotkin.
El-Sayed will be part of the new Democratic Party majority in the U.S. Senate when he takes office in January.
He also called out Republican Vice President JD Vance.
El-Sayed is the son of Egyptian immigrants and was subjected to attacks calling him a “jihadist” and terrorist sympathizer.
